If you have a dependable source of compressed air, you have to transport the air to where you need it in your pneumatic tools. Air is transported by air distribution pipelines. More

If you only use pneumatic tools only occasionally, you can make do with an ordinary hose up to about 10 m long, typically ½" in diameter. After work, the hose is rolled up and stored near the compressor, where it rests until it is needed again.

If used more frequently, or when locating the compressor in a less accessible place (e.g., a home utility room or a machinery room), you will need to build a route for the compressed air to where you most often work with  your pneumatic tools.
